OR Car not starting after checking AFM, and slight chirping sound when key on position

Hello, I have an 88 gtu. The car was running fine and great a couple of days ago, yesterday I unplugged the AFM and check to see if the trap door part on it was opening fine. It was shut fairly hard and didn't open to a faint tap, so i pushed a bit harder and it opened and closed just fine. I plugged it back in and now the car wont start. I also have two wires going to the ignition that got loose/disconnected, and were making an inconsistent sound that sounded like baby birds chirping, so they pulled right out and the car is now making a more faint chirping sound under the dash. These two wires dont have anything to do with the car starting as I have started it many times in the past without the two (they are connected to the ignition lock cylinder, while the rest of the wires are on the end part that pulls out, which i start with a screwdriver because the end of the ignition lock cylinder is broken, as far as I know these two wires just unlock the wheel), but when turning key to on position, I still get a faint chirp sound (im not sure why and not sure if this has anything to do with the AFM) please help! Sorry if the post is hard to understand, even I am confused.

welcome to the board.

all i have right now, is for you to make sure the connector (AFM) is seated properly. sometimes the lock (the metal clip) can move out of position and not seat on the two tabs.

as far as the "chirping" sound goes, i've got nothing to offer right now. maybe if you post a photo of the wires and general area where the sound id coming from, then maybe someone might be able to help with that.
