Car nearly dies.

When i crank the wheel, i notice a drop in revs. So i turned it all the way to lock, and it idled at 100 rpm's and sounded like it was going to die, So i cranked it to the other side's lock pretty quickly, and the revs dropped faster then a hooker to her knees, and made a clunking sound and just barley stayed alive.

Any idea's with whats wrong?

It sounds like faulty wiring somewhere or the vaccum line going to the power steering pump is clogged or something. Not sure.
