Car idle High when Cold.. How to Bypass?

SO. last few years when i start my car it just starts right up and runs at 800 rpm like normal.. For the past 5 months it starts up and sits at 2k for ever till the engine is warm.. I unpluged wires took the sensor wire off the Radiator.. Not sure what else to do.. Can someone tell me of a way to stop the cold Idle issue.

One reason is my Oil control rings are weak. And if it idles when its cold at 2k it blows more smoke.. But if i can keep the idle down till its warm its fine.. And i hate to smoke out the People walking the dogs in the morning.. and i dont think they like me anymore.. thanks for any ideas

Put it into 1st gear and then start the car. It will stop the warm up process and drop the idle.

Try disconnecting the air bypass solenoid and see if the symptoms change.

How can you let up on the clutch if it is in first gear? You need to start it in first, clutch in and let it run for a short period and idle will be fine, but if you start it in first, clutch in, then move it to neutral, the car will rev high.

Remove the spring on the thermowax screw. Then simply turn the thermowax screw all the way in. On N/A models you have to remove the throttle body to do this.

Can someone tell me why this is not recommended? I bypassed the thermowax recently, so far no issues. Also can i set the TPS while the engine is cold if i have the thermowax screw all the way in/bypassed? Ive been setting it while HOT but not sure if it matters since i have it bypassed.
