well what year is it? to get into the 13's there are some things you can do, if the engine is in perfect running condition which i hope it is for the price you paid, if you odnt care about smog, you can get streight through exhaust a fuel cut defensor, custome TID, those are the basics that will give u alot more power. ok i didnt see the link before, thats one clean S5, you will definetly get alot of power from some exhaust, you will aslo need a boost controler so you dont shoot over 12psi, thats basicly all you can do on the stock fuel system

*snickers* You bought a turbo RX-7 for GAS MILEAGE?

Sorry. That's really kind of funny.

The stock ECU is pretty bad in terms of fuel economy. It's solution to everything is to add more fuel.

If you want good fuel economy, either get a SAFC & tune it yourself (probably not the best idea with a turbo), or spend a bit more, put a full standalone (Haltech or such) in, pay to get it tuned properly on a dyno, and you'll be a lot better off. If you can get away with it in your state, remove the emissions control stuff - you can run leaner at light throttle cruise if you don't have a catalytic converter to keep from burning up.

I'd go 3" exhaust turbo back. It'll give ya a bit of low end and some good top end power as well. If you can, remove the emissions crap, get a better air filter (apexi and HKS sell good kits), a recirculatory BOV, and a boost controller. You might want to invest in an SAFC and a fuel pressure regulator if you're gonna be playing with boost.

Oh yeah...i'm a firm believer that a good suspension setup is key to having a great performing car. I'd actually do that first thing before I do any type of power mods to it.

THere is a nice chip out there but it is only for the s4's or 86-88 tII's. There are some chips you can get for the s5 but they are usually japanese rechipped ecu's off of ebay. If you look in the forsale section I think there was a guy that had a couple of rechipped s5 ecu's for sale.

That's going to be HELLA loud!

Rotaries have a very loud exhaust note, and even though yours is a Turbo, you'll want some sort of mufflers on that.

As far as chips go - from what I've read, there isn't much out there. Your best bet is to get a piggyback computer like an SAFC, or a complete standalone like a Haltech or Microtech. Of course the last two are the expensive options.

There is a lot of very valuable infor on this forum, and there are some general "rules" that you should follow when modding a Turbo rotary - with regards to fuel, exhaust, wastegates etc. A quick search will provide you hours of reading pleasure!

Your ride looks good - now you can start enjoying corners!
