Car floods 3 times a day. Need ideas.
Well, since I bought the Bonez SuperFlo exhaust my car has been flooding. It is more prevalent now that it is extrememly hot out(110F everyday).
I generally have to do the EGI fuse move 3 times a day.
Before the Bonez I had a muffler shop special(straight through pipe to some cheesy cat)
I never had a flooding problem with that on but it was welded bad and goes through exhaust gaskets.
I have heard it's leaky injectors.
Since it started with the Bonez I am guessing there is added backpressure keeping the extra gas in the chambers.
I swapped my plugs today and my old ones had some thick black and white buildup on them. My car flooded upon start and probably already hurt the new plugs.
So, I guess I gotta get a compression check and maybe new/reworked injectors.
If you guys could give me some input on this. I am super broke due to the clutch costing me some big $$(already giving me troubles might I add) so I can't get them redone right now.

www.cruzinperformance.com will do the same thing for half the price per injector. Call first because they get so busy sometimes they stop taking injectors.

To get the injectors out.
There are 2 outside visible from pas side of the car and 2 inside right?
In thge UIM?or LIM? I've never taken aprt the manifolds before. Recomend getting new gaskets for that if I go in there?
I'll have 2 days(days off) in a row to perform something like this.

You could just put a fuel cut switch in since most of the time flooding like that is caused by a number of problems. Such things like leaky injectors, low compression, and just an older engine.
But I would still put a fuel cut switch in it, so if it does happen again you can unflood it from inside the car.

That connector is right next to the steering column, and the wire that is cut and spliced with the blue connector is the one that you need to put a toggle switch into.
And I just got a cheap 3 dollar switch from wally-fart, and it had an LED on the end of it, so when the pump was on it was lit up.
And I just drilled a whole on the bottom side of the steering column suround, and put it there, so that you couldn't really see it without getting down onto the grond.

If you don't wanna do the fuse trick, reach under the dashboard by the gas pedal and pull the plug from there or split the cable and install a switch. But get those injectors cleaned and check the fuel pressure also.

yo, exact same prob here. i had to get out many times a day to unflood my engine (my girl friend got real good at knowing which fuse to pull). i then just put a switch off my pump and that solved my probs. im gonna get my injectors cleaned this winter though.

Cool, thx. (I'll look at the FSM when I get home so i don't mess with the wrong one)
Whats the extra wire w/ plug inside the column for?
I took my column cover and gauge bezel and a 6 inch long wire dropped down from the column. It wasn't connected to anything.

Key illumination maybe?
If you're taking off the covers around the steering column you're looking in the wrong spot. The circuit opening relay (the one in Cory's pic) is right under the dash, so you need to remove the panel with the little vent to get to it. You cant miss it; it's the only one with a yellow plug.

so will this "H valve" solve the problem, has anyone tried it??
i was warned about the hot-start stalling on my turbo.......the other day i was backing up in my back drive and stalled in the gravel[still adjusting to the clutch] and then it took me 10mins to re-start it!!:big eyes:
is there any place you can pick up new injectors for like 100-150??? would that solve it??
:edit:
if i buy one of these who can explain how to install it
