Car cranks, but doesn't start.
So I finally got the motor installed in my car (not a swap or anything) today and the car cranks fine, but doesnt even seem to try to start. The engine has strong compression, AFM is connected, no apparent leaks of any kind, has fuel, and has spark (with new plugs). I have several (large) pictures that I have attached showing various connectors that are not connected as I just can't seem to find where they go.
Some help on which ones are critical to getting it running will be extremely helpful.

cehck that the sparkplugs are all firing in correct order, T1, T2, L1, L2, etc.
one in the first pic by the fuse box is a diagnostic hookup i believe
the coolant level sensor to the best of my knowledge doesnt have to be hooked up to work,it will just make the coolant buzzer go all day long.
after that i gave up cause your pics are way to big and im stuck on a weak assed tiny monitor.
good luck

pic 1. not suppose to be hooked up.
pic 2. doesnt really have to be hooked up tp start.
pic 3. isnt suppose to be hooked up,unless i think you have the adjustable suspension.
pic 4. cant see what it is but it looks the same as pic 3.
pic 5. coolant level sensor doesnt have to be hooked up to start, but is very annoying
pic 6. doesnt go to anything
pic 7. have no idea... do you still have p.s and ac?
pic8. seems to be your window wiper fluid tube.
pic 10. looks like the plug that goes to the back of the alternator?
and people correct me if any of that is wrong...

1. Plug for auto suspension whether or not you have auto suspension. The word THESE makes me think theres another plug but where????????
2.02 sensor is not a player in starting.
3. Not a player. Auto Suspension stuff.
4. If this is near the passengers speaker/air blower area, I'd say Theft unit plug. Not a player in starting if you already have spark.
5. Coolant level sensor. Not a player in starting.
6. The little white plug???? Got me. Not a player in starting though.
7. Where is that???????? ON the transmission?????? Looks like a speed cable and it ain't in the cabin. Not a player if you have spark and fuel.
8. I'm guessing.......they MIGHT be for the oil level sensor and SubZero sensors. Wild guess. NOT a player if you have spark and fuel.
9. The yellow is the water temp sensor plug. The other two are oil level and Subzero sensor plugs from the pan/to the pan sensors.
10. Vital to staring the car if the windshield is dirty. Washer fluid hose. Fix now if not sooner.
11. I don't understand the question.
12. Looks like the alt small plug and the other thing is the aux fan temp sensor on the water fill housing. Not a player in starting.
My count is different than others. Some were guesses. But I know none of them have much to do with the engine starting IF you have spark and fuel and don't have the fuel lines at the engine connection on backwards.

I suggest a can of starter fluid and disconnecting the fuel pump connector and having a go at it. Just a one to two second spray into the airfilter will do. NO pulling of EGI fuses and that routine allowed. JUst pull the pump plug and have a go.
Those dangling under the car might be going to the transmission switches. You know, the over the top sitch and the reverse sw.

Ok, so it seems the fuel lines were on backwards, and it will start with starting fluid. The gas is upwards of 8 months old, so I drained the gas tank, and am getting fresh gas and some STP fuel treatment and see if it will start and stay running.

No change after swapping fuel lines, and it will still only start with starting fluid, but dies about 2 to 3 seconds after starting... Not sure what the problem is... Any ideas?

Actually the ones dangling from under the motor, one was the TPS connector, one was the alternator ground, and the other I'm not exactly sure of. The ones at the end of the tranny were the 5th and reverse switch; the speed sensor is connected. I found the O2 sensor wire, it was hiding behind the motor. There are a couple other connectors that I beleive connect to the alternator, but I don't see anywhere to plug them in. I might have the wrong alternator installed, as I have the other one sitting on top of the S5 NA motor I have (which BTW I'm trying to sell).
I got the motor to start a couple of times yesterday, but it would only start using starting fluid, and would die after about 4-5 seconds. RPM would climb up to about 2k if I gave it some gas, but it would still die.
