Car accident.

Hey guys I live in socal. I was going south down the 5 and made to aggresive of a lane change at 90 and went down the embankement about 30 feet and ran over a steel fence pool. As far as I can tell no engine damage, but the steering is a little jacked up. I need you guys to help me out and let me know what to inspect and look for. Its a 1989 rx7 gtu. Its all stock. Much appreciated guys.

buckles in the roof...doors...hood...fenders....

check the alignment by way of a tram gauge....visually inspect the toe...

get it on a hoist and inspect your tie rod ends...swaybar links...strut assembly...

AND TAKE IT TO BODY SHOP......just too bad you're in California or Id give you directions to mine

did your headlight get damaged? If your headlight doesn't move properly, the motor will keep trying to put it in place until it drains the battery. You have to pop the fuse.

Ok Im gunna go take some pictures. No body damage except to front bumper, lights still work fine although they both dont come up at the same time. I think its definatly got some alignment issues. The steering wheel is turned a little to the left when the tires are straight forward. I got some grass and dirt wedged in between the rim and the tire on the back left. Its making a bump everytime the tire rotates when Im driving, not sure whats causing it yet. I dont know enough about alignment to check everything with it so im gunna have to take it in unless someone can direct me to a site to learn.

Looks kinda like what I did in my Mustang, except I was only going about 10 or 15 and hit gravel around a corner. Still, the outcome is similar.

Maybe a better explanation of what happened is required. I was coming up on someone going about 60 so I changed lanes but it was around the side of a truck and I couldnt see very well, there was another car in that lane so I had to change back real quick and that sent the car into a skid, and yes it was 90 mph, not that impressive in cali when most of the cars around you are doing 80-85 anyways. I appreciate your guys concern for the FC seriously. Ive been able to do a more detailed inspection because I got it up on stands. It just needs to have the alignment readjusted, and a new front bumper. It needed a new paint job anyways. Yeah I am still learning how to drive an FC Its still relatively new to me. Big deal. What happened is done now you have two choices you can help or be a dick about it. Im pretty ****** sure you werent born knowing how to drive perfect. It takes practice. Thanks to all those with constructive criticism.

just noticin, where the dent is..that is where your windshield washer bottle is tucked in,and besides that,it should not have any more damage ..There anyways..my 86 has damage in the same spot..check to see if your headlights go up and down OK..not sure about the underside though..other comments..nope..would help any..

Yeah ok point taken. Thanks I never would of known without you pointing it out. It was definatly stupid I agree. I jeapodized my life but more importantly a bunch of other peoples as well.

The scrapes on the hood are from barbed wire from a fence that I went through. The headlights still pop up although the drivers side one pops up faster then the passengers side now. Ive inspected the underside and there is no damage. Nothing bent, broken, missing. I took a ton of pictures of the underneath because there easier to look at on a computer if you want any just pm me.

i almost got into an accident exiting the freeway. i was goin 80-90mph, braked to change lanes to exit when all of a sudden my car slides out from the rear. i let go of the gass and corrected it luckly. my car is all stock which must be the cause. just my 2 cents and glad to hear your car is still ok.

p.s. i suck at driving but i dont think it was my fualt, the 15 year old fc in stock mode is very unperdictable.
