WD40 is your friend here. If your just gonna replace the rotor you can heat it up and then smack it with a hammer. Just dot hit the studs. If you cant heat it just. hit in between the studs and it should break free after some good hits.

About the only thing you can break is either the spindle or the wheel hub. And if you feel the need.....go ahead and take the hub off now and check your bearings and races. This way you can avoid damageing teh vital suspension and get to see just how crackheaded mazda got when the designed the aluminum hub

Aren't there threaded holes in the rotor so a bolt can be threaded in and tightened down to put tension between the hub and rotor?

you CAN hurt the bearings from beating the krap out of the rotors

I had this problem a year ago, I had to take off the whole assembaly hub thing or what ever and have them pressed off....some one said the hub is aluminum and the rotor is steal over time the 2 metals kinda weld together. when the shop pressed them off it took alot of forced and they made a loud bang when they poped off they are on there soild!!! My brother and I tried a sledge hammet when the hub and rotor were off the car we took turns for about 20 mins and it didnt budge!!!! here is my old thread.

HELLO!

there is a threaded hole that you take a screw and put it in, and tighten it. it presses the rotor off of the hub.

isnt that thread hole only in the rear rotors, I remember the haynes manuel showing that, and if this rotor is this stuck that wouldnt work anyway, he has already bent hammers, but when I had this problem before I used a 35lbs dumbell and wacked it a few times, this guys rotors seem way worse though

The lazy way to do it, is lower the car all the way onto the ground (So it's sitting on the rotor) and rock the car back and forth. You just run the risk that if it pops all the way off the studs the car will slam into the ground. :p

It's also good for getting stuck rims off when you're stranded on the side of the road!

well i got the rotor off now the problem is the hub assemble is now stuck in the rotor (there was a nut behind the dust cap that i removed and the rotor came right off) anyways i was hammering it out and the rotor sliped and the sledge i was using landed on my thumb at ful speed so i now have a shattered thumb so i think im gonna go with the press idea
