I can't get my blower to come on so I'm just going to run a wire straight from the battery to the blower, and throw a toggle switch on it.
Is that ok with you guys?

I guess... I mean it's your car. If you like drilling holes in the dashboard and having wires hanging all over the place.

Why not troubleshoot the circuit. Could be logicon, or it cold be the switching transistor circuit up by the blower itself.

This brings back memories of two years ago involving a buddy of mine, a Toyota Camry, my university, lots of running around in panic, a tow truck and a fire extinguisher.

Will wait for the next post where you come back saying your whole car caught fire and it's only fine with me if you record it and post the video up

Yes, that be a lesson to everyone.... fuses save lives. And arcing causes fires.

Lol that's why I posted this thread to see if y'all thought that would be a fire hazard or something. Should I splice a fuse in there somewhere?

Before you go the MacGyver route, set your logicon such that the blower should be on, then whack the plastic blower motor housing with your hand and see if the motor starts running. If that works, then the blower just needs to be taken apart and cleaned. They tend to get a build-up of black gunk and leaves over the years.

Check the heat fuse on the top of the blower motor.

Do this, turn the blower on and take a test light and make sure you have power and ground at the blower. If you do than you need a new blower as it is shorted. It would be wise to replace the resistor and relay as well since the blower was causing high resistance and putting a strain on these other devices.

If you do not have power or ground at the blower trace it back. I'm sure you could find a wiring diagram on-line of the system. Don't take the cheap way out.

Yellow wire has voltage w/key to on. Blue wire has constant voltage.
