Cant figure out what master cylinder to order....

Ok i have a 91 coupe na with 4 piston calipers. My master cylinder has 2 brake lines coming out of it. When i go to the autozoo or advanceautoparts website they show the same pictures for all the masters and give no specs on how many holes or if they are for a single or 4 piston caliper. Now I'm thinking that the 87-88 TII only had the 4piston calipers and no abs so is it safe to buy a master cyclinder for that car?

The 89-91 master cyl is slightly different than the 86-88. The 86-88 dual caliper one will work in a 89-91 dual caliper system (if you don't have ABS) but you might have to change plugs for the level sensor and of course the reseivor won't fit, so you need the res from what ever master cyl you use.

Why are you having so much trouble for this. There are only 3 versions in 89-91 and 4 versions of the 86-88.

It sounds like you can rule out the AAS versions and ABS versions, and Base versions leaving only one left.

Ok from what i understand all turbo models came with abs. I dont have abs so should i stay away from getting a MC for a turbo? If anyone would be so kind as to try and figure out which one i should buy off this site. I'm looking for the cheepest one that still have a warranty. I have the reseivor off mine so i dont need a new one.

Hey I still have that new one, that they sent me, I can send you a picture, if you have only two lines coming out that is what this one is like, one coming out the left and one the right, as far as I was told those are abs ones, my 87tII has three lines and no abs, and I used a base n/a w/o 4 piston calip. master cylinder no abs and it worked fine, so I might have the right one for you ready to ship

No, only S5 Turbos came standard with ABS.

Ok well i went down to the good old junkyard today and found some goodies. I got the whole brake booster/Master cylinder with the right amount of brake lines. btw: mine has three lines on the MC it was dark when i checked. Anyway, I got the booster/MC with res. for $25. It was off an auto s4 with signle piston brakes so i hope it works bith my 4piston ones. I also happened to snag a wiper switch for $10 becouse mine was only working on speed 1. Put it in and it worked! Now my wipers work. Man im knocking down the list of stuff to fix pretty good. Just got to get my brakes to work, Security system, Change tranny and diff. fluid, new shifter bushings,...well im getting there:-) Anyone know if the autobooster and MC are going to work? Im going to put it in this weekend but i figure i would just ask if anyone knew.

The master cyls bolt onto the the booster. I don't think (without going custom) that you can bolt in a master cyl without a booster.

Pedal effort will probably be increased, and stopping distance will probably be increased slightly
