I think they run low 16's in the 1/4... at least that's what they're saying over at the celica forums..

With a few light mods you should be able to take em. Are teh
GT-S's still AWD? if not... zoom zoom!

naw the gt-s isn't AWD, I don't think, hehe. I'm sure you would hear about them alot more if so. My aunt had an older model gt-s and it wasn't AWD, its an option I think for the older ones. Never heard of it on the new ones.

no its front wheel drive... like hondas
i sort of compare it to a gsr. light, fast (for what it is), and good handling.

i think its just a tad bit slower than a gsr though. the cockpit is fugly as hell and very hard to read. the shift is pretty cool though, very short throw.

i still like the gsr better, this thing is just ugly. i hope you rip it a new *******

I think I could beat one, but I really want to find out for sure.

The cam switchover is way too high, and you cant keep it on the hot cam when you shift. That really kills their times. It would be a fast car if it could stay on the hot cam during shifts. I really expected better from Toyota.

Most GTS run 16 flat with average driver. 15.5 with great driver. Automatic are useless, dont even bother

RX7 GT: Where did you get the pic in your signature? That fornt end and fender combo is almost exactly what I am looking for the T2 that I race. Is there a website you know of that has details? Do you have more pictures?

My Ex girlfriend's parents have a 2000 GTS, it's a fun little car. 6 speed, throws are short. It would make a great daily driver, but i think i could keep up with it pretty well with my N/A.

There's a GT-S timeslip showing 14.66 with LSD and ACT clutch here: www.newcelica.org

Go to Forum / mods-performance / TOPIC "Went to the track, new times posted"

I own a 2000 gts, you can hit mid to high 14s in the quarter, and I have an 88 na rx, the celica will beat it easily. The new celica is also faster then the old all trac celica. Also if you know how to drive you can easily stay in the powerband every shift, so toyota may have made a mistake if you dont know how to drive.

I have never driver one, or rode in a 6 speed. I have rode in a GTS auto, and its a very sweet car, but it isnt fast. And I love the vents. They are so awesome.

I have read in numerous magazines that the VVT crossover is too high, and you cant stay on the hot cam after shifts. It might just have been an early production thing, or whatever, but that is what made all of the magazine times so slow.

Not trying to doubt you, but you really have to prove to peopel that you run high 14s in your Celica GTS STOCK. Ha new Celica is better than All-Trac, now thats funnier than saying a 89+ NA can beat a 87-88 T2 Stock to stock

have you not seen specs on the old all tracs, they are heavier and only have 20 more horse. Look at the specs for the new celica in the road & track, I believe there stock quarter is 14.6sec. Dont try to tell me what the celica can and cant do, especially when you have no experience with them.
