That SPRING located right beneath the yellow drawn in ARROW, is that the one to REMOVE so that when you do the TPS adjustment, its not affected by the THERMOWAX system?

Okay.....

You need to get the factory service manual off the web.

the '88 maunal will be fine for now....

http://www.iluvmyrx7.com/Technical_I...ice_manual.htm

BUT the screw you speak of is the master set screw.
Dont mess with it.

The spring is also not to be messed with.

Its the return spring.

The manual will show you how to adjust the TPS properly.
Dont go on the heresay you get from everyone until you read the right way first.

Then compare the shortcut advice you get to that in the manual.
when in doubt, RTFM.
