you know coincidenaly , if it combusts in the ehxaust, its going to push in all directions INCLUDING backwards the engine. Granted there would be backpressure forcing it the other way, I can't see how this can be goof for performance, massively disturbing the exhaust pulses...

thats what im saying....when it combusts gas would have 2 ways to go....forward(muffler) or backward(turbo)....

well i dont think it woudl be enough to push backwards, just enough to slow the forward velocity

Yes, it's not by any means an impressive explosion with massive ammounts of force (if it were, your exhaust piping would take some serious abuse) Generally it just ignites and flows towards the source of oxygen (generally out the pipe), granted sometimes they do have quite a bit of a 'pop' to them, but the exhaust forces usually help combat any damage to the turbo.

With proper piping size u shouldn't have to worry about that much back pressure. And as far as i remember this thread was about n/a's.

^ I love puns. Oh, and I would imagine full catless exhaust would shoot flames that would make even F-18's green with envy.

I seriously doubt that. Each one of the F-18 engines produces about 25,000 pounds of thrust with full afterburner, that is enough to take your car and launch it into the upper atmosphere in less than a few minutes. =)

I've got 2.5" straight exhaust (straight all the way) with a single high flow muffler. I'll get a fireball when I downshift at 7500rpm. But thats on only when the car is really warmed up. One of my sensors was disconnected and I was spouting flames when the car idled. Of course my mileage and performance sucked. But now its only at high rpm and when the car is really warmed up.
