Can I Use A Non-Turbo AFM in a TII?

I am finishing a S4 TII Swap in a 85 GSL-SE. I was wondering if I can run an 88 Non-turbo afm on it. I tried to run my GSL-SE afm, but the voltages are totally different. I can start the car, but it only runs a few seconds. It starts right back up, only to die. Can you guys let me know if I can use a non-turbo S4 afm and if the wrong afm is likely causing my problem. Many thanks.

S4 AFM will be fine to have to car running, but when you start to push it the ill effects will be had.

Thanks for the tip. Will the car die if the afm isn't working?

if it is an S5 it will start and run but will be very difficult to drive, wanting to stall easily. an S4 T2 it may start for a few seconds then stall.
