can i unplug this oil plug/bolt/thing safely?

stupid problem, but i still wouldn't mind some advice...
a bunch of wires is caught under this tube, that i assume is part of the
oil system, and held tight against the engine itself.
it looks ugly, and i expect the heat from the engine to eventually melt the wires or cause problems here..

here's a pic (about 50kb or 60kb iirc)

i could cut & rejoin each wire sperately, which would absolutely SUCK!
it would be so simple if i were able to unscrew this oil plug/thing, and simply move the bunch of wires out from underneath it.

so to those more mechanically knowledgable than myself; Is it safe for me to undo the plug marked in green? I'm not fussed if oil pisses everywhere, i'll cover everything in rags...i just don't want to **** anything up. i've had enough problems with the car lately as it is.

i can't stand looking at those wires trapped under there anymore..

thanks for any help!

jsut diconnect the wire plugs. It is easy to trace them. and no mess. They hve to have a harnness some where, just folow the wire and unplug it then reconnect. easy
But yes oil will go everywhere.

Sure, go for it. Its the oil feed fort the turbo. Once you take that banjo bolt out, I don't see how you'll get enough slack in the harness to get around the oil tube. You might have to taket the other end loose also. That could be a bag of worms because the other end is covered up with the duct from the turbo to the intercooler. And there is a another tube welded to that tube that travels fromt the right hand side and stops about where the alternator exists. Not worth it if you have to take both ends off. Might take that one end off and gently pry it up a touch and clear the electrical lines then reinstall.
EDIT: Tweaked has a good idea, except I think a lot of those wires go to the injectors, grounds and sensors along with the wires that go to the solenoid plugs. Could be wrong. I'd just take the banjo bolt out and clear the hard foul. Maybe put some anti chaffing material b/t the wires and the oil tube if your concerned. I see the tube from the front mounted intercooler. Must be nice.

cool, thanks for the advice! much appreciated!
i can't just unclip the wires from the other end.., that was the first escape option i looked at, but it connects to about 50 different things under the inlet manifold etc, and would be a massive headfuck.
i am pretty sure i can get enough slack in the bundle of wires itself to just slip it out from under the oiltube once i unscrew it from the engine (tha Banjo bolt, is that what its called 'eh?).
i just wasn't sure if i was going to **** something by doing so (i haven't had much luck carwise lately. once bitten twice shy)
that FMIC of mine looks really nice, but i don't like the lag now, i think the piping is too long..and it isn't ducted properly, so the airtemp drops aren't nearly as good as they should/could be...

the volume of the IC itself combined with the volume of the piping is what has caused the added lag - get rid of the stock turbo, add a T04 and all your prayers will be answered.................

That should not leak much oil at all. Gravity will take the oil back into the engine after you turn the car off. But once you have that off you will find it doesn't move much at all. Just take off the upper intake manifold and loosen up that vacuum spider. And it should be easier to work with.
