Can I save a filter?

Hi,
I am planning to change the oil before and after each track event.
Do you guys think I can only replace the oil before the event and oil & filter after the event? (or maybe the other way around?)

I am thinking replacing the filter for less than 400 miles usage is kind of a waste...

Do you think this will hurt the engine??

Thank you so much,

Filters can go 3-5k without problems providing that there is not other issues (such as high metal contact, blown seals, etc).

But it is probably also excessive to change the oil every time as well.

A good quality filter can easily last up to 10,000 miles. Changing it so often is not an efficient use of your finances. I would use a quality oil filter such as OEM, Wix, or Champion. Avoid the low end FRAMS which have cardboard endcaps and have been known not be able to withstand high oil pressures.
