Can I run a TII intake on a NA car

I am working on putting a 13B into a 67 MGB GT and the TII intake would work better for me than the NA intake. Will this cause any problems? Also, what is an S4 and S5 TBI. I am new to the RX7 world and don't know all the terms yet.

the NA motor has 6 ports, the T2 intake has 4...

s4=86-88, s5=89-91

there is a FAQ at the top of the forum you should probably read to learn all the "terms", it will save you time and from being flamed from asking silly questions.

You're going to lose a lot of low-end power...

Compared to having the NA manifold with working 6 ports, yes.

The reason I say this is, I think I remember from other rotary swappers threads that it is the Lower Intake Manifold, specifically the are of the 6 port actuators that make the NA intake not fit well in the chassis.

So if he as to choose between NA intake w/ no 6 ports or a modified 4 port intake I don't think it will make any difference.

The real hot ticket is the to use the turbo intake manifold and turbo 4 port housings. There have been several that have made over 200 rear wheel horsepower with a mild intake port and race exhaust port.

BTW, I likey the MBG GT- especially with rotary.

it will work, u have to do some extreme porting of the lim to match the 6 port block, i recently just ported a TII lim to match the na block thats going in my truck but also put on a turbo as well.

A fellow named JAPAN2LA who, not long ago, made/machined turbo lower intake manifolds to fit a six port engine. It looked like a clean design. You might pm him to see if he still makes them.

IF not, then you have to take the six port gasket and lay it over the turbo manifold, and do a lot of metal removal PLUS adding material to the intake. It can be done. Lots have. Even me. I used moten plumbers solder to fill in the voids instead of the JBWeld type stuff others use. It's a daily driver.

but you can see what is needed to do by observing the differences with this stock manifold

( fill in the casting hollows with weld, then port match the 6 port gasket back into the 4 port area )
okies?

Thanks for all the info. I went to the FAQ section and there is a ton of information there that will help me a lot. I have a lot to learn to say the least. I just hope I am not opening pandora's box with this project.

Along these lines, can you use the turbo upper intake manifold on an NA lower intake?

fabricating that manifold , and also a turbo one suit your car if thats your intention
will amount to most of the tricky stuff
- don't be put off ! results are worth it
the motors are remarkably simple, most of the tricky complex stuff is bolted outside of it
( and in your scenario = bin what cant be made to work well )

also your light car will not suffer from the loss in lower mid-range that deleting the auxiliary control valves will bring
( if it does, offset the rear end ratio to suit )
but i expect mid-range torque is still superior to the stock MGB anchor

overall the car should balance and feel near original
yet up top HP , even NA , to be 50- 100% more than stock

a refreshed mild 13b 6 port will be a very good selection, a relatively easy install
( perhaps investigate if earlier 12a timing cover swap will make mounting selections easier )
and near bullet proof in this application
