Can I put a TII tranny in an N/A?
I need a new transmission, cuz it just broke (and I mean broke). I am wondering if I can put a TII transmission in an N/A (S4). If I can, what will be the changes in performance? If I can't, why not? I am asking this because I want to find a tranny with low miles, and there aren't that many around.

Yes... I have one in my 88 'vert. Here is what you need:
TII tranny
TII clutch disk
TII flywheel
TII pressure plate
TII starter
TII clutch slave cylinder
Extend the wires on the wiring harness. You will probably need to use the TII crossmember.
Additionally, you will need a driveshaft custom made with a TII output yoke and a NA rear flange... OR you will need to change the differential and halfshafts to the TII parts, and use the TII driveshaft. It's easier to change the entire rear subframe when you do this.
In other words, YES, it can be done... but it isn't simple or cheap.

Keep in mind, that's a lot of weight you've just added to your car afterwards too, so unless you really have the power to warrant the need(and with no mods, you don't yet ) then I would leave this project alone.

200 rwhp? or bhp? I've heard of guys putting in stock TII motors using the NA tranny, and save for the clutch, the tranny holds. 200 rwhp sounds like you'd be pushing it. In either case, you're going to need an aftermarket clutch for sure.

well to save from starting a new thread... I was thinking aobut replacing my current N/A engine with a reman/ported TII engine. I knew i had to get the computer, tranny, interccoler and stuff, but the pumpkin cant handle it either? mamma mia, that's a ssssspicey meatball! Aobut how much $$$ do you guys estimeate in a N/A to TII conversion? And in the same line of thought, would it just be better to pop an HKS T04E turbo kit on the car instead? I need lots of input, if anyone can give it. Thanks.
