can i change ecu with the same harness

ok i have the turbo 2 swap on an 86 rx7 that i got done at jpr and i found out that i still have the n326 ecu, if i want to get the turbo 2 ecu can i just plug it in into the same harness? idk if when they did the swap they used my stock harness or the turbo 2 harness is their any way to find out? or can i just change out the ecu even if i had the stock harness?

Shouldnt be a problem swapping them. Make sure that you are using the turbo injectors and the MAF.

You can drop a turbo engine in a non turbo series four car and it will fire up and drive away. There will be some small functions that won't work on the Turbo engine, like the Twin Scroll. Plus the na ECU does not, will not recognize any thing over atmospheric pressure since it has a one bar pressure sensor. The Turbo ECU recognizes boost and retards/advances timing accordingly.

If you put a Turbo EM harness on that car, you will have to make changes to the wiring in that harness because the na and turbo EM harness are not wired the same.

Your car is in need of a turbo boost sensor, ECU and a couple of minor wiring adjustments to make the twin scroll actuator/solenoid work. Oh, and a turbo afm would not hurt. I'd drive that car modestly until I got the three items mentioned above.
