Can an engine stand damage the engine?

Just wondering if the weight of the engine, while on an engine stand, will cause any kind of damage over time. I don't think it would, but I want to be sure. Main reason I'm asking is because I can only work on my rebuild on the weekends, so during the week the engine will just be hanging on the stand. Will this prolonged suspension damage anything? Should I take it off the engine stand during the week and set it on some wood blocks? thanks

Na, it'll be ok. I left mine on a stand for a few months cause I was only working on it on the weekends, the inlaws made an unannounced visit for a couple weeks, I was waiting for parts to ship, etc..... It can sit there and be ok.
