I've got an '87 NA, and it was a stock as you can get originally - not a single option added. In fact, every power item in the car has been removed even if it was there to start with. My main problem with that is that there isnt any cruise control. I have a problem with speeding up unintentionally, espcially if the highway is fairly deserted. I know that cruise control was available on s4's, so could I somehow install one now? I'm good with electronics, so anything thats not too major I can do.

i would say you have harness in there already (part of main harness), just need switch, cruise computer and cruise motor together with cable

both electronic (TII) and vacuum powered (NA) should work...

Yes. As I recall, stay within the same series as your vehicle (86-88 or 89-91) for parts.

Well, the main reason I want a cruise control is for very long drives on highways with little or no traffic. I didn't use my cruise control much on my last car, but I drive to San Antonio and Houston a decent amount (I live about 30 miles south of Waco) and there are long, boring roads that wear me out after a while. Also, its kinda hard to tell my speed on the highway, its just loud droning exhasut noise regardless of speed. I doubt I'll actually put it in, I'm just exploring the possibility.

Are you joking??? If it is really only setting at 80 MPH, then chances are the speed signal or tach signal is not working correctly.

Oh I see... Yeah the S5 cruise control is not supposed to be able to be set at over 85 MPH.
