Can the coolant and oil get mixed?

Is there any way a rotary could leak coolant into the oil without it entering the combustion chamber? I can't see how it could happen but I've never rebuilt a motor so what do I know.

It can happen if the outer o-ring is bad. Have the system pressure tested.
