Arrow Calling all people with true dual setups.

Ok guys I want to know how many of use have these kinds of setups. I have the Mazdatrix one with the RB mufflers.

State all of the following please:

1)If it is Custom or Mazdatrix
2)If it is Mazdatrix then what mufflers
3)Have you dyno'ed them to see if the HP gains posted by MT are true? If not how much HP did you gain?
4)same as 3 but for custom built setups
5)What do you think about this kind of exhaust?

I'm runnin a custom dual exaust, with RB pre-silencers, RB mufflers. Nice tone, and not loud by any means. I did'nt get a chance to dyno my FC with the my old RB n/a exaust, but the difference when I whent to true duel was awesome. Would'nt switch back if I could. CJ

1) Mazdatrix does not make any exhaust systems. They only sell racing beat exhaust. I had an RB true dual on my 1st gen.

2) My RB system used power pulse muffler wich is what came with their system when I bought mine.

3) I have not but I have seen others dyno very close to their claim. This is crank hp though. not RWHP wich is what matters.

4) no

5) I used to believe that they where superior to 2 into one exhaust. But after doing a good bit of research and working on a race team for the last 2 years, I believe a 2 into 1 system is best.
All of the fastest race cars run a collected header.
Our first season out we started with a true dual that collected at the muffler. it had two 2 3/4" pipes all the way back to a straight through muffler.

We later switched to a collected header with a 3" exhaust. we dynoed 6 more hp at the wheels.

Thats a pretty big difference. Another benefit is you have almost half the weight going with a collected exhaust.

The first exhaust used a racing beat "Road Race" header.
The second used an SDJ motorsports header.

My friend has one, but it is collected down farther at the moment until he get some aftermarket mufflers. Seemed to help quite a bit in the high end, especially from 6-7.5k.

Yes plus a single is significantly lighter. You are running a lot less pipe.

1)RB Headers from Mazdatrix
2)Dual HKS Dragon Mufflers
3)i havent dyno'ed, but i can feel the power gain!!
4)i have the RB Headers, no cats at all, and straight 2.5" pipes all the way out
5)i love it, it is loud, but sounds sweet, it has the habit of spitting fire though, dont bother me much, i want to have it dyno'ed, but there is way less restriction than before, and i can fell that

I have a true dual exhaust setup. Mine is all custom straight 3" piping all the way out to 2 HKS Draggers! Although I haven't dyno'd the car, I can feel a dramatic difference over stock. The car has a deep aggressive sound. In fact I've since had to resonate it cause it was way too loud! I got pulled over 4 days in a row after the day it was installed! You could expect those HP numbers, because turbo's thrive on breathing. The majority of the power gain will be from the downpipe anyways...........

Got the MT true dual w/ RB muffs. Like the setup, (ease of install) Going to get a dyno within the next month or so but don't got a before dyno. Now got new engine w/ s5 internals, s5 intake mfld, street port, RP alternator pulley PR 6port sleeves, K&N cone intake and the exhaust. So I won't be able to tell what amount the exhaust has added.

AM I the only one that knows true dules would require 2 HEDDERS!!! there is no possible way to get a true duel exhaust system out of an rx7 ulness you ran a single pipe from each rotor housing!!! no rx-7's have 2 hedders its like a straght 6 or a 4 cyl. so unless there is a kit for each rotor housing to have its own pipe and full exhaust behind each of those pipes there is no way of having true dules

Rx-7Blazin, RX-7s have even more of a "true" dual than any V6s or V8s can have. If you get an uncollected header, you will be runing one pipe from the exhaust port in a single tube that exits parallel to another pipe that's from the other exhaust port. That means you are now running ONE pipe per exhaust port. V8s run 4 exhaust ports per side.

Now if you take some pipes and match them up to the header and run them all the way out the back, you now have true duals.

If that isn't true dual, I don't know what is.

Never mind...... I confused the thread. I didn't realized that we were talking about N/A's, and I didn't realized we were talking about seperate pipes for headers. I just though the thread was about the dual exhaust setup. sorry.

Any of you true dual guys got some sound clips or videos of your cars? I'm really contemplating either going with a true dual type of setup or running with a midpipe and presilencer setup on my FC and I'd like to hear the sounds and the power differences (all around not just peaks). Thanks ahead of time.

I didn't get pulled over for speeding.......... I got pulled over for noise pollution. I don't know if you guys in the states have the same stupid laws as us, but that is one of ours!

It really depends on where you are. Example, I am in Montana. Every so often I see an open headers mucle car run down the street. Straight pipes are more common than factory exhausts. We are overall a louder area for cars. It's pretty much based on what the norm of the area is.

Spokane, WA on the other hand is pretty pissy. Their local PD is supposed to start carrying dB testers soon. I consider my truck to be pretty quiet and I've been asked several times if they've picked me up yet and people are surprised that I havn't.

Hi Mike, like heard your comment on a collected header from AWR. From the look of it, AWR one looks some what similar to SDJ motorsport's street header.
here is the link to AWR header:
http://www.awrracing.com/pages/rx/rxexh.html

and the SDJ's street header:
http://www.sdjmotorsports.com/Headers.htm
thank you.
