A/C High Pressure 200-280?
I just finished overhauling my AC. Replace Compressor, Exchange Valve & Low Press
switch. I also cleaned Evaporator & Condensor coils. I then purged the lines by vacuming, then Recharged system. All is working well except my High Pressure
is reading outside the specs of 145 - 195. On open highway it's 200, but at ilde
it climes to about 280. If I hose down the condensor it falls to 150 in about 20 sec.
After about 10min it climes back to about 250
My condensor appears to be in good shape, no leaks, blocked or damaged fins. I'm
wondering if an E-Fan might be the answer. I'd think a small E-fan mounted to
the Condensor would be better than a big one that blew the hot air off the radiator
thru the condensor. Any thoughts or experience with cooling the condensor on
AC?
Thank's Brad

Thanks, I'll look into intalling an E-fan. Do you think replacing belt driven factory
with larger E-fan would cool the a/c condensor, blowing thru the Rad. Or do I need to
have one directly mounted to the condesor to cool it?

Most did not get the E-fan regardless of A/C or not.
The only determining factor that I can tell on what models got the E-fan, was on models that the A/C was not port installed but rather the A/C was installed in Japan when the car was made all have had the aux E-fan.
Most North American models that I have seen have had port installed A/C.

My car was converted 5 years ago. Seems to be working fine except I would like to
lower the High Pressure some. I'm going to look into adding an E-fan to the condensor.
Cooling temp of air at vent : night driving AC wide open 40+/-, day diving
A/C wide open 50+/- deg.
