if you have an 89-91 (sounds like you do) there is nothing you can do. you either have to fix it. or buy an aftermarket ecu like haltech. ($1000-2000)

I have an intermittent "limp mode".
So far everything checks out ok. Resistances and voltage and visual ECU. No engine fault codes.
What are your symptoms?

How is there nothing he can do?? Unbolt the OMP, make a block-off plate, take out the Oil Injectors, and replace them with Bolts. Then, find the OMP connector, cut the harness off of it, look in the FSM for the resistance it has at normal operating conditions, go to Radio Shack & buy the corrosponding Resistor. Go home, Solder it in, and roll.

you can fool the ecu and not use the omp . you must disconnect it from the harness and put I think 3 resisters on the harnes .Call Garfinkle in Murfreesboro Tn to explain it to you

Ok, before you post saying that you can do this, pony up the exact instructions on how to. I've seen COUNTLESS posts on attempts to trick the ECU, and no where have I seen someone successfully manage to do it, where the OMP is concerned.

Is there any "successful" way to leave the thing attached and block it off? Short of that, can't you just remove the pump, leave it attached to the harness, and relocate it? Will the pump simply burn itself up w/o oil flowing through it? How about a means of redirecting the feed lines to return the oil to the pan somehow? Mine is an '89, so the pump needs to be recognized by the ECU, but that doesn't mean it needs to be functional.
I know, I know, all questions and no solutions, but inquiring minds want to know!

you can't put resistors on because the resistance changes as the OMP pump opens and closes. the ECU checks to make sure it changes. your way might work for a few mins...
