bypass air control valve

i have an 89 rx7 convertable, when i bought it from a friend he sold a few parts including the bypass air control valve, i bought one for a 89 rx7 does anybody know if it will work?

sorry, typo. i got a bypass air control valve from an 88 rx7, was wondering if it will work in the 89
