buying a rx7

well guys 2marrow ima look at a 1989 rx7 n/a and i was wondering what should i look for to see if the engine is good or bad and do the diffrent models matter of course the turbo one has turbo but other then that i dunno how the models go GLE or something

Run it up to 7K RPM in second gear, while leaving it in gear lift off the gas and let it coast down to 4K RPM, now look in the rear view mirror and jump back on the gas again. Do you see the mother of all smokescreens eminating from the exhaust pipes? If so, that ain't a good sign.

Also, you might want to do this on a straight road. Doing the "look in the rear view while on the gas AND IN THE CURVES" is not a good test drive procedure.

I would also check to make sure the wiper switch and the headlight switch work (get out and check to make sure all the lights are actually on). Nothing ruins a purchase like finding out you need several hundred dollars worth of replacement switches.

what are the model diffrences exceot fir the turbo because i know it aint turbo
