Is the a american car that shares the same automatic transmission like our 87 N/A automatics? Looking to have a shift kit installed but need to know cause no one makes them for our cars but I read on here and hear that our mazda transmission where also used in other cars.

I am not looking into doing a 5 sp swap due to not having time to do it by myself. My tranny shifts fine just looking to make it a bit more reliable and added a bit of pep to it.

Mazda stock automatics transmissions are CRAP.

The majority of automatic transmissions on Japanese cars are JATCO units.

well knock on wood , it is still shifting good. I just wanted to insure it stays that way and upgrade a bit along the way.

are the trannies used in other cars besides rx7? Where there are tranny shift kits available?

 

I wouldn't mess with the auto tranny's at all. A rebuild is about all I would do.

 

What part of "NO" don't you understand?
These are not domestic V8's.
You're not going to find a B&M shift kit for the Mazda RX-7 automatic transmission.

If I were you, learn how to drive a manual trans.

I just wanted to look at my options. Thats why I posted on here. I trusted other folks saying there is a kit just like you telling me there isnt. No need to get rude. And I do know how to drive a Manual, its just my 7 has a automatic and I dont have the time to do the conversion. I trying to work with what I got at the moment.
