what year? stick or auto? listen to the idle, rpm's when warmed up should be at about 700. take condition into consideraton when talking $. i live in jax, if you would like a second opinion, i could ride over. do you know a lot about any other vehicles? some principles are the same. check fluids, take it out for a good test drive, and let it cool down and check the fluids (oil)

make sure the car is cold when you go check it out........you need this in order to see if it has a coolant leak.....on star-up the car will have white smoke coming out of the exhaust if it has a coolant leak.........if the car is warm then the broken coolant seal will expand therefore not allowing for coolant to enter...... If it is warm when you get there then tell him you will return tomorrow when it is cold.....

I don't think 3750 is too much, as long as it's in good condition. Check the normal things, oil in the coolant, make sure it fires. If you can get it, do a compression check. Check everything like it's a normal car. Rust is bad.

make sure you check the clutch master and slave cylinders...i had to replace mine within 2 months of ownership...the guy never drove it, so it sat there and rotted out the seals.
if the engine's bad, you could always put the 4-banger from your mustang in it!
