If you want to go fast the Turbo II is the way to go. You should be able to find an 87 - 88 in your price range, but no promises on milage. I'm not sure on what a Turbo II is like to drive daily but I can't imagine it being any different than any other FC

How hard is a turbo to work on? Noone around here knows what a rotor is let alone how it works. Turbo, that is a whole lot of hoses. How difficult?

What do you mean a whole lot of hoses?

Hoses going from the turbo to the engine. It looks difficult to get to anything. I have no life. I have been reading the same Haynes manual for a year.

Well, any car is like that With the Turbo you just have a lot more to worry about going wrong with the car than you do with an n/a RX-7. Both cars have their respective ammounts of vaccum lines and air / coolant hoses. The Turbo has a few extra connections that the n/a doesn't have for easy enough reasons.

The problem with the haynes manual on the FC is that it doesn't fully illustrate some aspects of the car as well as it could and it can lead to confusion... One you get down in the car and start seeing everything in place you get a better grasp of what would be involved in taking things apart or just working on the car in general...

If you're worried about extra hoses from the Turbo, just go with the n/a. You'll sacrafice some potential power, but you'll get a fairly zippy car. When you talk about a Turbo and n/a you're talking about a 40hp difference at which point a race pipe and catback pretty much clears up for you
