ABS vs Non-ABS S5 TurboII

My ABS hasn't worked since I got the car, and I'd like to remove the huge ABS unit so I can do some other work in the engine bay, and simplify things, and lighten it up a bit.

Anyhow, I need to know, can I just run lines out of the stock master cylinder my car has (with ABS) like:
1 to the drivers front
1 to the passenger front
1 to both rear (it tees off in back I believe)

Or do I have to do some jiggidy job to make sure the proportioning is correct left/right and front/back (or is there even 3 connectors on my stock unit with ABS, I dunno..)

There are two ways that you can do this. Mazdatrix sells a ABS elimination kit which is basically a box to loop the existing lines together. Your other option is to buy a non-ABS master cylinder and non-ABS brake lines (two front wheels. one to the back of the car). The pipes and the new master cylinder probably won't run much more than $100. This is the way that I went BTW (I did't trust looped lines for high speed hard braking).

putting a non abs master cyl and putiing a tee and keeping the abs master cyl is the same zhinit .....putting a non abs mc with new lines is gonna be more time consuming , either way it works!

Is there some massive brake proportioning going on there within the ABS unit that I should worry about?

And Mazdatrix is some overpriced stuff usually.. I checked on it but I can't find the kit

the ABS unit in my '98 cavalier is ***, abs in it sucks, and has nearly caused several accidents. I pulled the fuse, and have been happy ever since.

I was doing to do the same to my turbo, as that experience left me VERY anti-abs, but, from the limited experience that I have with it on my car it seems to be LEAGUES better than the GM unit. Much faster/grabbier/just plain better. I actually think I could grow to like it. The brake balance might be more rear-biased in the ABS cars just because ABS can better compensate. I really don't know though.. don't know who would, either.

the proportioning should be correct if you just remove the pump.

if you are worried about it... get a wilword proportioning valve/adjuster

what exactly does the perportioning valve do? My guess is it evens out the amount of pressure for the front/back left/right, but what the hell does that adjuster do then? Thanks guys

mmm... brake proportioning valve.. sexy kinda..

I wanna get an electronically controlled one like they have on Formula 1 cars, so I can trail brake into some corners, and just brake hard and fast into others..
