buying Rtek 1.7

Hey I'm buying the RTek 1.7 chip and since it runs 720 cc secondarys will this have a negative effect on a basically stock car. I want the 1.7 chip because of its other features but I figure I'll need the injector upgrade eventually too.

It's a reworked map so it will reduce the 720's to the stock 550 operating range for regular driving but it can handle 10+ psi with ease now.

I dont understand this.......so is what your saying is that there would be no diffrence in the Rtek 1.7 with 720s or the Rtek 1.5 with 550's........or just under regular drivign it reduces them and then when you get on it it bumps there production to 720????

You NEED 720cc's in order to run the 1.7 ECU, plain and simple. You CANNOT use this ECU without the 720's - the car will run very dangerously lean if you're using stock injectors in the primaries and secondaries.

The Rtek 1.5 was created for stock injector TII's...

yes u must use the 720 if u get the 1.7 chip or damage will occur!!

i have heard some people saying that the rtek 1.7 when running at stock boost levels is a tad on the rich side...

It does run rich on stock boost levels, It did in my car thats why I was confuse about the coment that said it reduces the 720s to 550s......Im pretty sure that it changes the ECU to handle 720s insted of like a SAFC that tricks the ECU but you still get the perfomance out of the 720's I know I could tell the diferance and seems to run great at 12PSI........

im running the 1.5 at 8-10 psi on a t4 hybrid and its still running rich as hell. thinking of 12-15 miles a gallon and flames when im in hi rpm's or speeds.

im going to wait until the 1.8 or 2.0 comes out that can controle the full set of 720's but if i was you i would just go with the 1.5 for now and and just upgrade for $25 later on when u have more mods added needing the extra fuel..

I already knew I had to use the 720's with the 1.7 i just wanted to make sure my car wouldnt have any ill effects using the 1.7 w/ 720's this early on in the build up process.
