Buying rims, what I need to know.
Drive and 87 Turbo II. Just like to know the numbers and stuff before I put the money down on anything. I have the stock wheels right now and their 16 inches. I think their 16 *7 all around but I could be mistaken. Someone suggested to me to get 16*7s in the front and 16*8s in the back. Some numbers i need to know are tire numbers maybe and offset. And that one lug number what is it 5*100 or 5*114 or something like that. I tried websites to figure out what those numbers are but couldnt find one.

just a general word, whatever size you settle on, especialy the more it deviates from stock, get your hands on or make a cardboard template to make sure they fit (clear the rottors, dont hit the suspension etc) it could save you a lot of hassle.
dont go over 17" put thats just my .02

8" wide, run about a +30mm offset, for fronts
Rear you have a lot more clearance, but most people prefer the wheel/tire to be flush with the wheel well. With an 8", you can with like a +20mm offset. A 9" wide rim in back will fit also with like a +30mm offset.
225 or 235 tires up front and 255 tires in back make for a nice combo.

personally, i was looking to put 17*8 up front and 17*9 in back with 255 and 275 respectively. i may have to opt for the 245/265 depending on whether the larger tires will fit the rim or not.
also, the +20 offset for the front and +30 for the back, do you have this setup or are you just guessing. like you said, i want the wheel to be close to flush with the fender but not past it. sounds like +20 may be too much. i tried to do the numbers but all that is just a waste of time. i need to see hard results from others to be sure what looks and fits right.

We've run 17x8 +25 with a 225/45/17 up front, and it looks really nice. 235's will squeeze in some cases - see other threads on tire fitments. 245 will almost never fit, so be prepared for some fender rolling - the +20 on an 8" will help, but this will require fender rolling almost all the time. 255's up front is just too much tire width under the stock fenders. If someone figures out how to stuff a 255 under the fronts, please tell me!
