busted injector - how does this happen?

I just thought this was pretty cool and wanted to share. This would be the cause of my rear rotor flooding 24/7. Could one of the gurus explain what happened here? I'm really curious.

I think he's talking about the fracture on the red plastic part of the injector.

That's just the pintle cap, it's not going to cause a leak on it's own...

Unless I'm missing something here...

Yeah thats a $.xx peice that I agree with wayne, I see no way for that to cause a leak. Chances are its sticking and you cant see it by just looking at it, needs to be sent to be cleaned along with all of them.

uhhh if its flooding don't reuse it until you send all your injectors out to be flow tested, calibrated and cleaned. I send my stock 550cc out to http://cruzinperformance.com/ they are the cheapest I found that already had a good rep and they replace all the o-rings and that busted pintle cap.

That's just the pintle right? His flooding problem is probobally due to a stuck injector so he would have to get them cleaned and calibrated.

Cracked pintle cap has nothing to do with the fuel injector malfunctioning.
The pintle cap is just a protection cap to keep the "pin" part of the solenoid from getting nailed by some debris in the intake air flow.

In fact, you can pull the pintle cap off, and it should work fine.

Man, if you have that kind of debris in your intake flow, nailing the injector is the least of your worries...
