CA burning coolant

my 86 rx7 non turbo is burning lots of coolant and has a loss of compression, i'm planing of rebuilding the motor. How hard is it to rebuild? i have rebuild many reciprocating motors but never a rotary. Any tips before i start my rebuild?

There is how-to videos you can purchase, as well as some online for free. Must be easier, much less parts

I must say though that you should pull the motor apart asap instead of letting it sit. Coolant inside the engine corrodes the plating of the housing iirc
