because I got a hold of road race headers and piping for about $60 which is a great deal in my eyes, so I plan on going true duals. And from my understanding true duals give a wider powerband.

thats true, but it seems to me that if you're throwing in extra mufflers to make it "quieter" that is just adding more unneeded restriction to the flow

I can understand the good deal, but not the powerband.

well from my many hours of searching, everyone has said true duals give a wider power band.. and collectors give a narrow powerband but a greater peak if done right.

scathcart, I've heard from almost everyone, that a single will make more power. Please show me some dyno sheets. As far as I've seen, a dual will make more power...but this is just from my 167rwhp on a mustang dyno. Or 183ish rwhp on a dyno jet. CJ

Dyno's are based upon dyno conditions. Bernoulli's principle is not. Tough to argue against the laws of physics.

Well, their should be somone who's made more dyno proven hp than me with a single exhaust. Since it is physics and all. And I'd realy like to see it. I would like to see someone put down 168rwhp on a mustang dyno, or 183rwhp+ on a dyno jet. This is the same car I trapped 97.92mph in, with full interior, and no weight reduction......I don't want to hear "I knew a friend, who heard from one guy, that his FC was putting down 190rwhp." Whats realy funny is people with *alot* more port than I ever had, putting down less hp. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but of all the cases I've seen, a single exhaust is used in noise reduction, not to make peak power. All the IT7s, Pro7, GT1, 2 and 3 cars that I've ever seen at Portland Int. Raceway, and Seatle Int. Raceway (SIR had its name changed.) where allways running some sort of a dual exhaust. My track days are limited, but I'd give Rob@Pineapple a hand when tuning customers of his cars and stuff. Show me some real world hp numbers and mph numbers....not laws of physics. CJ

You could try buying a fujitsubo exhaust system and making custom true duals.. not quite sure that would be so quiet either though...

N/A

Turbo

Or maybe get a stock rx-8 exhaust system and see what you can do with that

Only if I knew what it said.. but from what I made out there was only a 14hp gain.. so I don't think they flow too good.

So what you're saying is: My single exhaust mustang is getting more power than other people's dual exhaust mustangs... or something along those lines.
Of course you would, unless those mustangs are turbocharged they still require a decent amount of backpressure to maintain their low end torque. Going true dual with a V6 N/A is absolutely retarded.

The fujitsubo system looks nice, but also looks a restrictive, Are the mufflers a strait threw design or S type?

At this point, I have a Rx-8 as a daily driver and a 400rwhp+weekend driver 3rd gen Rx-7. I traded the FC in on my 8. But I'm still a FC lover, and check out the boards.

I don't know what you where reading, but I don't own a mustang or anything like that. Please stop, you're scaring me.

I'm replacing my entire exhaust, but was wondering if the Bonez cat would work with the racing beat down pipe and cat-back. I think I might have to use the Bonez down pipe instead of the Racing Beat, but wanted to see if anyone had thoughts. I'm running an 87 TII with the 89 engine.

Thanks!
