This seems like a semi-unknown brand, but is supposedly "heavy duty". The price is amazing though: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/86-01...QQcmdZViewItem
This is your basic ACT 6-puck (sprung) clutch-kit, with the price I would expect to pay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ACT-F...QQcmdZViewItem
And then this is intriguing, because there is a lightweight flywheel in the whole package, however it appears to have everything but a T/O bearing?: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EXEDY...QQcmdZViewItem
What should I buy? Also, if anyone has another brand or setup that they can recommend--that would be awesome.

i installed a gripforce into an n/a, it did seem a little spongy though for a heavy duty clutch but no slippage and the price was good. no experience with the T2 gripforce clutches though(first Kevlar clutch i have ever installed, it could have just needed a break in process since i barely had time to burnish the fur off it, it could have also just been air in the clutch since i never drove that car before the rebuild and i do know the clutch felt a little wierd pulling it into the shop anyways).
i hate puck clutches, they are ok if you rarely drive your car but if you even semi DD you will hate the clutch, your car and yourself for putting it in there just for a solid launch, they are actually a little too grippy for rotaries anyways if you ask me since turbo rotaries have little torque a grip start will result in a huge bog and loss of power as well as possible broken components.
hell, i bought an SPX clutch(kragen brand, was less than $200) for my car when i originally rebuilt it. now with ~300RWHP and 25k miles on it it still holds power just fine with the 285/40R17s in the back yet i have heard of people with high end clutches slipping at less power so you don't always get what you pay for and sometimes you get more than what you pay for.
stick with what works and suits your needs is my suggestion.
most of the **** i read on this forum i would chalk up to bad installations on not just clutches but ranging to just about everything. just about everything i have installed on my car has lived up to my expectations but i hear of people buying performance crap that my OEM quality stuff outperforms? doubtful.... i think most people blame products for their lack in mechanical knowledge - yes it is very easy to install a clutch incorrectly, they tell you to torque the pressure plate in 5 steps for a reason!
i have installed a number of ACT street clutches and they all held very well so far.

I've got a centerforce stage 2 from mazdatrix, I've been very happy with it as a daily driving clutch and at around 250rwhp it seems to be doing well. I'm swapping my tranny out though and figured I'd just do a new clutch because I have the cash right now :P and I'm going to try the popular ACT heavy duty street that's the sprung regular disc. I'll let you know early next week what I think of it. If I forget and you remember, just PM me.

Cool, thanks for the imput guys. I dunno though Karack, a lot of people seem to like the 6-pucks, especially if they're sprung.
Anyways, if anyone has a couple seconds (and knows a thing or to), could you perhaps check out my update on my 'other' clutch thread? I saw something weird when I popped off my tranny's lower inspection plate.

I've driven a couple 6-puck VW's, and they did chatter and kinda suck, but they were both unsprung. I don't think it'll really bother me though. I like challenges. lol
Oh, the freeway is gonna SUCK in rush-hour... However, 80% of my driving is in the city.

Heard pretty good things about the XTD ebay clutches, although I personally have no experience with it.

I got the oem replacement kit by Exedy from Gripforce. No issues yet, grips well. Only thing I don't like is the clutch disc has rubber diaphragms and not springs. I called daiken-clutch to make sure it was the right one too, when I saw the diaphragms, lol. But I rarely ever do any kind of "spirited" driving so it should be fine.

A buddy of mine's running an xtd 6puck, although he hasn't put much mileage on it yet he's very happy with it. I was quite impressed with the quality of the clutch and pressure plate. He's running around 250 at the wheels.
