Broken Trans ground

So I finally got the damn heaterhose from Mazdatrix, when lo-and behold, while i'm replacing it this breaks.... Now, I would assume that just grounding this wire to the transmission would not be correct, I would need this small "block" on there. Anyone know where I can get this... or if I can make my own?

Thanks!

I believe that box is a capacitor, and affects the operation of your oil gauge, but I could be wrong. Ive ran without that before, and everything worked fine.

Well The car won't start without it. I had this same problem when I swapped transmissions... I forgot to hook this pile of **** up and the damn thing would not start... just click. I also recently replaced the battery and it has a full charge.

Edit: I guess i should ask a real question here... where can i find it? mazdatrix does not have it.

It's a cap (AKA capacitor of filter)

It's there to reduce spark & alternator noise, so the ECU, the stereo, & the driver will be happier..

While you're at it check the firewall to top of bell housing (solid wire - no cap) ground & maybe replace the cheesy clip with a bold on eyelet.

You can't buy it. They do not sell them any more.
