Broken off Sparkplug

my strength is too mighty for this NGK. the threads broke off whiles i was tightening it.

now that there are threads stuck in my housing, how can i get them out?! preferably w/o any debris getting in the combustion chamber.

my 1st thought is to try and unscrew it with a somewhat large screwdriver... ideas?

i have NEVER seen that happen.

i would be very surprised if you rotor housing ISN'T ruined.

your best bet is to drill it out and helicoil it.

I scream and planted a fist in my drywall yesterday because I broke a UIM stud and a grounding bolt by overtighting it. I'm not sure what to do about a spark plug.

buy a easy-out tool and use the tool works good. DO not drill out and helicoil it. lot of work and it shod be a last resort.

that doesnt even look like the right spark plug to begin with......
and secondly, im almost positive that youre now fucked. or its at least not worth it.
and thirdly, it doesnt matter what you do, you are going to get debris in the chamber, its just a matter of getting it out properly

Loads of penetrating oil and then a blind bearing puller (clamp it in and then twist) might do it.

12 ft-lbs (144 in-lbs). Also, always use anti-seize on the threads. Otherwise, over time oily plug threads can "weld" themselves to the plug hole threads.

Because of a new ford problem which is commonly leaving threads in blocks napa has a tool to remove them designed just for that

man...that sucks.

if it was me, I wouldve taken the engine apart and rebuild with porting. If you ran the engine and something does goes wrong like chewed up apex seals, you are going to have to take it apart anyways.

Having debris, however small in the chamber is bad for the seal. You can try and vacuum it out, but its a chance.

When I broke an exhaust stud I tried easy out. It also broke inside the bolt and then I had a bigger problem. I had to take it to the machine shop at that point. They had some electric pulse machine or something that got it out. Best of luck to you.
