I had a similar problem with my passenger side door handle TWICE. I just followed the direction in a Haynes manual to remove the inside door panel and access the mechanism that holds the handle in place, and all I had to do was screw on a nut that had come off its bolt (or buy an appropriate replacement nut - cheap at any hardware store) and the problem was fixed.

Did you check to see what the problem is? About half of the time it's a simple fix. If it's physically broken, though, you will need a replacement.
