Broken Alternator B-post?
I want some people's opinions on this. I got a replacement alternator from Autozone online because it was easier than going to the store. Anyways, when it came the B-post has a crack in it and is slightly bent. I tried to wiggle it or move it and it is solid. Would it be better to bolt my B-post from previous alternator onto the new one, return it (ugh, long wait for the new one), or just leave it be? Picture below...
The Insulation Is cracked on the B Post...no big deal...you can either try straightening It out (seeing how It's still usable) or simply swap out your former one.
Some people when upgrading to a FD Alt, for example, have found that the B Post supplied with the Alt may have been cracked or bent beyond use. As a result thry swapped out their former FC Alt B Post with zero consequences.
