Anyone know how to get AC working on a 1991 NA FC? My friend's car has about 66k miles and the ac is dead. Blows normal air when AC is turned on, and RPM's do go up. Where can he start diagnosing? They don't make new ac compressor/condensors anymore. he searched rx7club and google but nothing came up


It would cost about $75 to buy the original r12 refill bottles on ebay.

If its cheaper and better to convert to r134 that would be fine too!

 

First thing is find out what kind of pressure is in it and does the a/c clutch engage? you will usually need about 60 psi static pressure for it to actually turn on, I am assuming it is empty so you need to either find r12 or retrofit it which is pretty easy.
