Broke more stuff
SO ive finally had time to remove the sleeves, free my jammed actuator, but in my pineapple sleeve inserts and put the LIM back on. Here is where ive got a problem. OK so S4's have a backpressure pickup tube deal that goes into a metal tube thing that attaches to the bottom of the LIM. Now im no expert but I assume air goes through these tubes that allows the 6pi actuators to... actuate. Well in the process of putting this metal tube back on, I snapped one of the bolts in half. In case you dont know, this metal tube thing is held on by two bolts. Sure we have all dealt with broken bolts before but this is one of the many weird bolts on this car.
The bolt has a hole in its side and a hole down its middle so air can flow through into the LIM. Unfortunately, this is the bolt that snapped in half. Now call me presumptuous but im going to assume you cant head down to your local Lowes and get one of these bolts. So, anyone have any ideas as to what I should do? I thought I could have them open electronically (I was just going to do the air pump mod in the first place) but from what I read you still need this metal pickup tube. Any idea if I can get one of those crazy bolts from a hardware store? Id hit up a junkyard but they just removed all the motors from the 7's there.
