Bridge Porting Question - n/a 6 port

I remember reading a thread that someone was doing a half bridge on the aux. ports and a street port on the main ports. If you read this, I can't even remember your forum handle, but what kind of HP figures were you looking at. If anyone else has done this, how was your idle and well did the engine run. If anyone has good information, actual information, not assumptions please feel free to post some feed back. Thanks

-Chris

i read that same thing. the guy said it idled fine because he still had working aux. port actuators. he also said that from 4500 rpm on up that it ran "like a raped ape." hope this helps.

doing a bridge port on the aux ports would require some fabrication of the sleeves for them to still function correctly. I've been interested to see someone try a setup like this, I like the idea of "streetable" and "raceable" in the same car

Rotary resurrection does an Aux (5th and 6th) ports street port. Here's the info from his site: http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/engines.html

Oh yeah, I know I talked to Kevin already. He's not to sure himself because bridgeporting isn't his area of expertise. Although, thanks for the input, I'm not interested in street porting the Aux ports. It's something more along the line of a hybrid port consisting of a Half Bridge on the Aux ports and a Streetport on the primaries.

That is a very small porting job, very different from a bridge port.

in my communications with others on the half bridge...

you will need separate runners. This means a custom intake manifold.

You will need custom headers. collected.

You will need a standalone.

you will need injectors larger than the stock 460's

It will be loud and you will need somewhere around 4 mufflers probably. It will have to be straight through.

You will need a transmission that is stronger than the stock n/a transmission.

Thats interesting and I can see that for a full bridge, or even a true half bridge. However, in bridging only the aux in the 6pi, the bridge would be fairly small. I think the things you suggested are for more traditional bridge port than an aux BP. I doubt that you will need a standalone or even custom headers(though they would be nice to have). The custom intake manifold would be nice. Larger injectors?.....maybe...the N/A injectors are all ready pig rich, if you do need larger injectors then turbo injectors should work. As for the sound...since the bridge would only be open when the aux are open, the car should not be "too" loud at idle, however at WOT, I think a good muffling system would be required.

have at it! if you plan to be making over 230 at the flywheel I think you will need larger injectors. I really do think you will need the intake manifold, stock one will ruin the scavenging effect (this is hand me down info, though I am pretty sure I understand what is going on when we talk about runner lengths, scavenging, pressure waves ). you might could get away with the stock ECU... judge ito did it with a stock ecu and was making good power. But then again... thats judge ito AKA GOD. Well, maybe not that big but definitely superhuman.

Thanks for the input guys, I already had a general idea of what you'd need, I'm just curious on it's numbers and car performance. That's all I need. Thanks though.

possibly 230 and up... it all depends and what else you do. if it doesn't run right the power isn't useable anyways.

I was guessing 230+ flywheel hp, and yeah definitely up to rest of mods. Anyone have dyno sheets?
