Break in turbo rebuild as N.A. good? bad?
I will be needing a rebuild soon and was wondering if I left the turbo off a TII engine during break in if it would be benificial or harmfull in any way. I would ultimately like to run a Lysholm SC instead of turbo on it, but you can't "stay out of boost" during break in w/ an SC that produces low rpm boost-so I thought, break it in w/ just headers and add the SC later? I know if I break it in w/ stock turbo I will be lazy and never put the SC on, but if I have it NA I will yearn for power after break in and it will not be too much harder to put the SC on instead of turbo.

Im pretty sure beak ins are RPM dependent, not boost dependant. I wouldnt try running an engine meant to have forced induction as naturally aspirated. It will run way rich. Just keep your foot out of the gas.

OK, running excessively rich would be bad as we already know (I have about the same set up as in your sig. w/ a Greddy A/F meter-as well as a nose-that lets me know how pig rich it is below fuel cut boost levels!) I would have stand-alone or at least piggy-back stuff ready for the forced ind. upgrade and so could tune it leaner w/ that. Thanks, anything else you can think of?
