I'm not sure what a "break pad" is, but I did recently buy new "brake pads".
Hawk HPS are good for street use. From what I hear the HP+ are non-street pads.

I've been using the Porterfield R4S compound for some time now, I'm quite satisfied with them. Good stopping power and initial bite, and they dont make noise either
They do dust a bit though, but not terribly. I would reccomend them if your planning on tracking the car.

For street driving and auto-x i've been using mid-grade semi-metallics from BAP/GEON.
I've been wanting to try Akebono ceramics, but they are expensive even with a wholesale account at work.
