Exclamation Braking problem '88 Turbo

When I press the brakes slowly I get no braking. When I just stomp the brakes or push hard on them they work fine. I had my brakes bled and that didn't help. What do I need to replace? This is for my 10th AE too. Thanks.

Could be the vacuum booster system. Test it according to the factory shop manual. FSM is available at one of the links in the 2nd gen FAQ. It's a simple test.

Well I still cannot figure out what is wrong. I searched a bunch and didn't find any other problems like mine. I can push the brakes to the floor if I push slowly. If I push fast/hard on them they work just fine.

I will try to disconnect the brake booster today. It feels like they work fine when I push them quickly. I had a pinched brake booster line on my 90 non turbo and it didn't feel anything linke this.

I'm tempted to say master cylinder. My 240 suffered a similar problem, and it turned out to be a combination of a bum master cylinder and a leaky seal on the brake booster.
