Brake master cylinders...
Hello RX7 Club,
Recently my brake master cylinder started to leak internally. So I am in the market for a new one. I simply want to confirm that the same brake master cylinder is found in all FC's, regardless whether s4, s5, abs, non abs, turbo or NA. Rock auto is giving me the same part number for both s4 & s5, turbo and non turbo . Any help is always appreciated.
My car is a 91 NA chassis with no abs, and a s4 tii swap.
Thanks in advance,
Austin

definitely not same part numbers...s4, s5, turbo and NA all have different part numbers because some had ABS some didnt...
i think it might also depend on what kind of brake booster you have too, but dont quote me on that...

I've always understood that 4 lug brake systems have smaller bore than 5 lug systems because the 4 pot front calipers on the 5 lug system required more fluid to move in order to operate. I'm not sure what the difference would be with the abs / non ab systems, but they do have a different part number.
Did 4 lug systems come with ABS?

its a confusing list, as there are about 5 different ones. Mazdatrix has the most simple listing http://mazdatrix.com/j-3brake.htm
im looking at part number: 43-400D-FB02
seeing as i fall within the 86-92 year, with no AAS and no ABS
Thanks again!!

regarding this topic, i need to replace my 86 GXL master cylinder. from what i understand, the 86 GXL did not have ABS, but does have AAS.
i ordered 43-400C-FB08 (the N/A AAS but no ABS model), from atkins rotary, which i assumed to be the correct model. however, the one i received did not have the pressure sensor hole in the bottom. did they send me the wrong one, or does my car have a different model for some reason?
