BOV vacuume line Picture

Hey guys ... I was working on the car today and i noticed that my stock bov is opening at idle ... My intention was to block off the port going back into the intake and let it do an atmospheric dump (more sound!!!!) ... However after I sealed off the port going back into the intake ... The car would not idle well ... I later found out by putting my finger over the outlet of the BOV and the idle cleared up.

One of two things I am assuming is happening - The vacuume line is not on the right port or the stock 24 year old bov is not holding anymore.

The car seems to be running well - Making boost ...

Thoughts? Suggestions?

that's just how the stock bov works. either use an aftermarket valve or put a check valve in front of the stock bov.
