BOV installed now popping upon deceleration

after i installed my HKS super BOV ( the old school one), it seems that the exhaust starts popping a lil during deceleration, also it seems like the RPM's "stick" for a split second, also sometimes when i'm boostin a lil and i let off i hear a weird noise..? also i'm on a motor with basically no compression ( two of the three chambers are toasted, but i have a reman to use) on the rear rotor but it wans't doing this before, any ideas?

Umm, is the weird noise the BOV letting out the air? Also, I seem to remember reading that a BOV can create a momentary rich situation when installed a certain way, so that might cause the popping. Alos, why are you boosting on a motor with a blown apex seal, especially when you have a reman already?

Your "blowing off " metered air, your car is running rich, and it's backfiring. Atmospheric BOV's do that.

welcome to atmospheric venting.

Your venting, but the afm thinks that air is still in there, so your running rich while you blow off.

recirculate your BOV, or live with it.

most of us do

you have two options:

1) recirculate.
2) go standalone, and ditch the afm.

wow i missed the whole part about your engine. dont boost on it. it may be rebuildable, until you start laying boost onto it. if you have a reman, why are you bothering with this engine? start the swap now and definately be done by spring, when you'll want a strong engine to boost on!
